There's a strong flinty note to the nose of this bottling, which meshes with smoked apple and dried lemon-peel aromas. The palate is wound up tight, and the smoke and flint show again, but fall in line behind the nectarine, white peach and lime zest flavors.
A bright but complex Chardonnay, this wine has upfront favors of crisp pear, lemon zest, and pineapple. It has great acid and layers of citrus and minerality throughout. The wine is smoothly textured and is well balanced from start to finish.
