| The tougher than nails Old Hickory joined the Revolutionary Army at age 13, working his way up the ranks, ultimately to Major General. It was during that time that Andrew Jackson?s men nicknamed him Old Hickory? for his incredibly tough spirit and tenacity, when he refused to send his men home with little to no food. Instead he used his own money to buy them supplies and walked home right alongside them. Elected to the Presidency at the age of 61 after being Attorney General of Tennessee, a Representative in the House and a U. S. Senator, Jackson hosted an Open House? for a meet and greet after his inauguration, complete with plenty of whiskey, his favorite spirit. The White House turned into a boisterous mob scene (a modern day house party), with over 20,000 politician, celebrity and citizen guests rummaging through the White House, muddying up furniture and breaking crystal, all looking for Old Hickory. The staff had to fill up wash tubs full of whiskey to lure the partygoers outside. |

Our unique mash bills were created in conjunction with longtime Seagram?s master blender, Pam Soule, at the former site of the historic Joseph E. Seagram?s facility in Lawrenceburg, IN. The water we use to distill our whiskey is drawn from deep, rechargeable ancient glacial aquifers dating back 1. 2 million years which formed the Ohio River basin as it looks today. All the corn is sourced from farms within a 250-mile radius of the distillery. |
